Deputies say Abba Bryski, 35, ran over a 28-year-old Modesto man at the new Camarillo Costco.

A man was run over and killed at the new Costco gas station in Camarillo Monday night, and a driver has been arrested. The victim is described only as a 28-year-old man from Modesto, a city 65 miles south of Sacramento.

The suspect is a 35-year-old man from Agoura Hills, identified as Abba Bryski. Deputies say he stayed in his car, and witnesses pointed him out to arriving deputies.

In past newspaper reports, Bryski has been identified as a rabbi and the son of the founder of Chabad of the Conejo, a religious institution just off the 101 at Reyes Adobe Road in Agoura Hills.

Monday just after 8:30 p.m., dispatchers got a call about a man run over by a vehicle in the parking lot of the Costco on Ventura Boulevard west of Las Posas Road. That is the brand-new Costco that opens for business later this month, but the gas station there is already open and stays open until 10 p.m.

Arriving deputies were directed by witnesses to the man who had parked the involved vehicle and was sitting inside it.

Bryski was arrested and booked into Ventura County Jail on one count of suspicion of murder.

The events leading up to the killing have not been described.
