Heavy surf pounded Malibu overnight as a 7.2-foot high tide approaches at 10:28 a.m. Tuesday. Word is coming in of more houses up and down the beach in imminent danger of collapse.

City Manager Joe Irvin Monday night told the city council there's El Niño damage from one end of town to the other.

"Pacific Coast Highway is all obviously eroding. We're working with Caltrans in that location. There's erosion along Westward Beach that Beaches and Harbors is working on, and I'm in constant communications with L.A. Malibu Colony — calls and emails have been coming in on a lot of issues that people are experiencing with pilings and seawall disturbances.

"And Latigo Shores is also experiencing some inappropriate or poor designed roadway that's causing concerns for residents in the area."

Of course, the big problem is the 31 red-tagged houses at La Chusa Beach. That did not even came up.
