Caltrans holds online hearing on La Costa Beach bike lanes
The state is seeking public input on a roughly 4,000-foot PCH project that could add bike lanes and a sidewalk between Carbon Canyon and Las Flores Canyon. It's at 1pm today at https://engage.dot.ca.gov/i53314#tab-77215

Another public Caltrans meeting is scheduled for this afternoon (Wednesday) on the state's vague proposals to add bike lanes and a sidewalk to Pacific Coast Highway at La Costa Beach.
It's another outreach effort to hear from the public on what they want for the highway between the traffic lights at Carbon Canyon and Las Flores Canyon.
Caltrans says this project would only be about 4,000 feet of PCH — less than a mile out of the 27 miles of PCH in and next to Malibu.
There's talk about a sidewalk, but it's not clear which side of the road that would be squeezed in on. The state also wants to narrow down the center left-turn lane right in front of the fire station.
The public hearing is on computers only, Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m.
