Caltrans pauses PCH, Topanga lane closures for Labor Day
No state lane closures are planned Friday through Monday, but the eastbound wall work at Piña Beach resumes Tuesday morning.

Drivers on PCH and Topanga Canyon Boulevard are going to get a four-and-a-half-day holiday from Caltrans starting Wednesday night. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday — Labor Day — there will be no lane closures planned by the state on PCH or in Topanga Canyon.
Not Wednesday, until 3 p.m., and then starting again Tuesday morning at 9 a.m., state crews will once again be closing one eastbound lane of PCH heading towards Santa Monica. This is to continue work on an oceanfront retaining wall at Piña Beach. That's just past Big Rock and just before Tuna Canyon, near the eastern city limits of Malibu.
But those construction crews are going to be given a four-day weekend for Labor Day. No lane closures are expected after 3 p.m. Wednesday until 9 a.m. Tuesday.
