City unveils PCH redesign at Malibu's most crash-prone intersection

Malibu has just released plans on how it wants the knot of traffic to be redesigned on PCH at Las Flores Creek.
That's where two traffic lights — at Rambla Pacifico and Las Flores Canyon Road — sit on PCH just three car lengths apart. It's the most crash-prone intersection in Malibu, given the large number of fender benders there.
Blueprints drawn up by the city's traffic engineer show plans to eliminate the left turn pocket from westbound PCH into the gas station near Duke's. That drew a lot of complaints when the concept was discussed at various commissions a year ago.
It comes up for public discussion at the Public Works Commission meeting tomorrow at 3:30.
