There was a serious crash early Monday morning on the 101 freeway under the new Wallace Annenberg wildlife overcrossing.
In the darkness, a black sedan stopped under the bridge on a blind curve with its taillights off. A small truck hit it. One person was spotted out on the freeway with a flashlight trying to wave away approaching traffic from the blacked-out wreckage in the left lane.
The eastbound freeway was closed for about an hour and reopened at about 5:30 a.m.
