Driver killed in single-vehicle crash near Channel Islands
The CHP has released few details about the Lewis Road crash that killed a 26-year-old pickup driver.

There was a fatal crash near Cal State Channel Islands last week.
The CHP is releasing only a little bit of news about the crash, which happened one week ago on Lewis Road. The crash was in the farmlands just north of the turnoff for University Drive. That's where the pavement makes a significant dip.
But the CHP does not yet know why the 26-year-old driver lost control on the four-lane road, which has a 55 mile per hour speed limit. His Toyota Tacoma pickup truck drifted across the oncoming traffic lanes and went down the embankment.
The man was declared dead at Los Robles Hospital in Oxnard.
