Father testifies at Grossman civil wrongful death trial

Karim Iskander told jurors he tried mouth-to-mouth on his 11-year-old son Mark, but the boy's skull was disconnected from his spine.

The father of the two boys mowed down in a crosswalk in Triunfo Canyon testified in court Friday.

Karim Iskander is the father of Mark and Jacob Iskander. He gave evidence in the civil wrongful death trial against a Westlake Village socialite, her husband, and her boyfriend.

As we've been reporting, the boys were struck by a car driven by Rebecca Grossman. He and his wife are suing in the civil wrongful death trial against Grossman, her husband Peter Grossman, and her boyfriend Scott Erickson.

Karim Iskander said he and his wife had their perfect family — three sons, one daughter — until Scott Erickson and Rebecca Grossman sped through that crosswalk six years ago.

In his testimony Friday, Iskander said the boys "got crushed and died."

Iskander is a medical researcher, and he used clinical terms. He told the court that he'd tried to give Mark mouth-to-mouth resuscitation at the scene, but his son's skull was disconnected from his spine.

Rebecca Grossman is serving 15 years to life for the second-degree murders of 11-year-old Mark and 8-year-old Jacob, who were killed as they used a marked crosswalk in Westlake Village during a family walk.
