Fireworks companies to pay $4 million for fatal El Dorado Fire

A smoke grenade made by an Ohio company sparked the 2020 gender-reveal wildfire that killed a U.S. Forest Service firefighter.

Two fireworks companies based in Ohio will pay $4 million in damages to the U.S. government for manufacturing a smoke grenade that caused a wildfire which killed a firefighter in inland California.

This stems from a gender reveal party in Riverside County that went spectacularly wrong, sparking the El Dorado Fire six years ago.

U.S. Forest Service wildland firefighter Charles Morton was killed.

An Ohio company built the smoke bomb — Wholesale Fireworks Corporation and its subsidiary agreed to pay $4 million in damages.

The idiots who fired off the smoke grenade six years ago have already been convicted. The daddy was sentenced to three years in prison. The mommy got probation. We do not know how the kid is doing.
