Grammy winner Diane Warren adopts runaway West Hollywood piglet

Wilbur — the pig that led rescuers on a chase through West Hollywood — is headed for an animal sanctuary in the Santa Monica Mountains.

Wilbur the piglet is now a Malibu resident.

Grammy Award winner Diane Warren trooped down to the West L.A. animal shelter and won the auction for the piglet. This was the pig that created quite the commotion in West Hollywood this week as it sprinted away from rescuers in the heart of the city.

Warren owns an animal rescue center in the Santa Monica Mountains above Malibu. She lost her beach house in the Palisades Fire.

Her associate, Marcia Zwillig, was the happy winner as four people submitted bids to take home the piggy.

"It's going to have an amazing life," Zwillig said.

Diane Warren has bought animals from the shelter before, after seeing them make a run for it on TV helicopters. Four years ago, she saved a runaway cow from its fate at a slaughterhouse.
