High tides and big waves to threaten Westward Beach next week
Lunar high tides peak Tuesday and Wednesday at 7.9 feet, with waves on top and no new rock protection planned.

Malibu didn't get any impact from the rain other than wet roads, but now comes the worry about more very high tides and big waves.
Starting Monday, the lunar high tides will be plus seven feet or greater, peaking Tuesday and Wednesday at 7.9 feet. Add to that one and a half feet from the Kelvin wave and thermal expansion from the very warm ocean, and then waves on top of all that three to six feet high. That could lead to wave conditions like we saw this fall.
As of Wednesday night, there have been no plans made to bring in more rocks to protect Westward Beach Road or to extend the emergency revetment up the coast.
