L.A. County urges voters to skip the mail, use drop-offs

Registrar Dean Logan says voters should return ballots to a vote center rather than mailing them at the last minute. Election day is Nov. 3.

The L.A. County Registrar is urging voters to either drop their ballot at a vote center or return it in time to be processed — don't put it back in the mail at the last minute.

The list of polling places and their operating hours will be published Monday.

Registrar Dean Logan told ABC7 that attempts to interfere with voting from Washington are not going to affect the process here in L.A. County.

"The best security for elections comes through participation," Logan said, urging voters not to let noise about what's happening around the country, or theories about what's happening here, prevent them from voting.

Voting in this fall's election starts when ballots arrive in the mail next week, and ends on traditional election day, Nov. 3.
