A minor earthquake hit Malibu last night at seconds before 8:12 p.m.

The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 3.2, and the epicenter was about 5 miles south of the Malibu Pier. At 3.2, it was far too small for damage.

But according to people who responded on the internet, some areas of eastern Malibu felt it harder than the central or western ends of town.

Some people in Ventura and Santa Clarita checked in on the USGS page to say they had felt it.
