Mail ballots arriving; in-person voting opens Saturday

Malibu City Hall opens as the city's first vote center this weekend, with three more sites to follow.

California ballots should have arrived in mailboxes all across the state by now. As for options for returning the ballot, there are several.

The ballots can be handed in at Malibu's voting centers — the first of which opens this Saturday at Malibu City Hall. Or the ballot can be dropped off anytime day or night in the secure ballot drop box at the Malibu Library.

Side note: your ballot can be dropped off at any drop box in L.A. County. Make sure you are in the right county, of course. It's different in Ventura County.

In-person voting using voting machines starts Saturday at Malibu City Hall. You can cast your vote-by-mail ballot, or pick up a new ballot to cast, at the polling station. It's open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at city hall starting Saturday.

Another vote center opens later at Malibu Library. All four vote centers in Malibu will be open Election Day.

Of course, you can also mail your ballot in via U.S. Mail — it has two weeks to get to the vote tabulation center in Downey.
