Malibu Canyon reopens after water main split Play

Malibu Canyon at Las Virgenes Road was reopened to traffic Tuesday morning. Officials at the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District needed a day and a half to repair a split water main.

This was not just a pipe breaking; it was a long section of metal pipe splitting right down the middle. It was a difficult repair job.

The road got completely washed away by the flood of water. It was repaved Monday night and reopened in the middle of the night early Tuesday.
