Malibu surf report: small south swell, deep low tide

Two to three feet at the Point, water temperature 64 degrees, with a minus 1.1-foot low tide at 9:32 a.m.

By Hans Laetz

At the Point, 2 to 3 feet — stomach-high waves. The swells are coming from the south-southwest, 194 degrees, 2 feet every 13 seconds.

West-facing beaches a little better, but the downcoast winds should hash things up later this morning. Light and variable wind early, trending light south through the morning.

Water temperature 64 degrees. That's five degrees above normal. Air 60.

But watch out — a deep low tide, minus 1.1 feet, is at 9:32 a.m. High tide returns at 4:46 this afternoon at 5.5 feet. No major high tides this weekend.
