Man shot dead in Santa Monica Pier parking lot after weekend party
Police are seeking witnesses after a fight in Parking Lot 1 North ended in gunfire early Monday, hours after World Cup crowds packed the pier.

A weekend-long party at Santa Monica Pier ended with the murder of a man in the parking lot next to PCH early yesterday.
Santa Monica police are seeking any witnesses who may have seen what happened. No name for the victim has been released yet.
The shooting death occurred after a fight, just hours after World Cup revelers packed the pier. Cops rushed to Parking Lot One a half hour after midnight.
Exactly what led to the fight and shooting is still under investigation, police said. But the first reports are that two groups were in a physical altercation before shots rang out in Parking Lot 1 North.
