Point Dume Access Road still closed after hurricane waves

LA County Beaches and Harbors officials are still trying to come up with a plan to temporarily make the Point Dume Access Road safe.
Last week's hurricane waves ate away the sand supporting the road, just past the pay station next to the Malibu Sunset restaurant.
The restaurant is not in danger. But the pavement just east of there — and the water pipe underneath it — certainly is.
That takes 340 parking spaces out of commission. And last week, the Zuma Beach parking lot overflowed with beachgoers.
