SMMUSD says new Malibu school air conditioning working properly
District officials attribute last week's complaints at the Morning View Drive middle and high school buildings to a broken thermostat and a replaced damper.

Officials at the Santa Monica School District say the air conditioners at the two new buildings on Morning View Drive are functioning properly. Thursday night, a teachers union official said the classrooms in both buildings — the middle school and the high school — were too hot.
The school superintendent agreed with that report, as we reported.
After it aired Friday morning, district officials said some minor equipment problems were the issue: a thermostat broken, a damper was replaced.
The school district's operations director tells KBUU the air conditioning is functioning perfectly during the hot spell.
