Third candidate enters Malibu City Council race Play

A third person says she is running for Malibu's city council. Anne Komarovsk told the city council this week that she has pulled nominating petitions for the November election.

She is fresh off her campaign to be elected California's governor. In the June primary, Komarovsk attracted a whopping 0.00 percent of the statewide vote.

But it's not just Malibu City Council that this candidate has her sights on. Komarovsk also identifies herself as an independent candidate for the presidency of the United States in that election in two years.

Incumbents Marianne Riggins and Doug Stewart are running for second terms in the November 2026 election.

This conflict-of-interest note: Komarovsk has been denied permission to put her communications antennas on KBUU's tower. And she says she has filed a complaint against the radio station at the FCC, unhappy that KBUU did not cover her campaign for governor — the one where she got that 0.00 percent of the vote.

The FCC is not allowed to regulate news coverage.
