Unusually warm ocean levels and summertime-style bacteria are reported along the Malibu coast.
Water temperatures are well above 60 — up to 63 this morning. That's very, very warm for so early this time of the year.
The L.A. County Department of Public Health reports that bacteria tests have come in high at some of the usual suspect beaches, including Paradise Cove and Surfrider Beach. High bacteria readings have been reported at some of the beaches in the Malibu fire zone.
Signs have been posted to warn swimmers to avoid water in those particular locations. But most of the beaches check in nice and clean.
