Bryson Fire runoff into Trancas Creek being watched

The upper Trancas rain gauge measured about two-thirds of an inch near the 146-acre burn scar.

By Hans Laetz

One question Thursday is how much runoff from the Bryson Fire flowed into Trancas Creek. The nearest rain gauge in upper Trancas Canyon, not far from the fire, measured about two-thirds of an inch of rain.

The burn scar is small — 146 acres — and the rainfall has not been very intense. But any runoff through the ashes will flow down Trancas Creek past Malibu West and into the lagoon.

We'll have a report on that Friday.
