How to rebuild Pacific Coast Highway to make it safer? Every Malibu resident over the age of six has opinions on that.

The state has been holding dozens of hearings to take notes on what all the traffic experts have to say. And the state is holding another meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Malibu City Hall.

But this time, it is about just one little section of the highway — eight-tenths of a mile between Fire Station 70 and Duke's restaurant. That is, of course, the section where four women were killed while standing on the road outside a frat house event.

The state has not released any alternatives, but they have in the past talked about narrowing traffic lanes, adding bike lanes and adding sidewalks.

The four women who were killed were standing in front of one parked car and behind another when a driver going 104 miles per hour hit them. The driver, Fraser Bohm, is charged with murder. His trial is coming up. He is at home on bail.

Getting back to the PCH hearing next week — it's from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Malibu City Hall.
