Caltrans lane closures hit PCH and 101 this week
Boulder placement work will slow PCH between Malibu and Point Mugu and near the Getty Villa, while wildlife crossing construction closes 101 lanes overnight.

Caltrans will have major lane restrictions and other delays on three major Malibu access routes this week.
During daytime hours, flaggers will be blocking traffic and then letting it through on PCH between Malibu and Point Mugu. Cranes will be moving giant boulders across the highway and down into the ocean, where giant waves ate a big hole in the cliff under the highway three weeks ago.
On PCH east of Topanga Beach, PCH will have one lane in each direction late at night and until 5 a.m. That's to install big boulders next to the road at Ratner Beach, down in front of the Getty Villa Museum.
On the 101 freeway, nighttime lane closures will affect either or both directions at the wildlife bridge construction site. Starting at 7, one lane will be taken away from traffic heading from the Valley toward Kanan Road. Hour by hour, additional lanes will be taken away until three lanes are closed and two left open, starting at 11 p.m. for traffic heading toward the Valley and starting at midnight for traffic heading toward Kanan Road.
The $114 million wildlife crossing is still on track to officially open Dec. 2.
