We normally don't cover crinkle-fender crashes on PCH, but this one is surfacing on the internet.
Some genius driving a $2.5 million Ferrari decided it would be a good idea to use the center left turn lane to pass a slow truck in the left lane on PCH, in front of Nobu.
The driver whipped into the center turn lane and ran into the back of a Mercedes convertible, lifting the second car into the air.
Video of the crash shows the $2.5 million Ferrari 812 Competizione Aperta completely destroyed, looking like a submarine that made a disastrous mating attempt with a tuna boat.
As one automotive blogger writes: "The scene looks brutal. The Mercedes' rear axle appears to be sitting directly on top of the Ferrari's V12 engine bay. For a car already worth around $2.5 million in today's market, the financial hit could be staggering before repairs even begin."
It's not clear what day this happened — probably at least two weeks ago.
This was the biggest Ferrari fiasco since the infamous Fat Stefan crash 20 years ago, when a Swedish mobster named Fast Steven went airborne in a Ferrari Enzo.
