Speed cameras, new AV system also on council radar Monday
Social media complaints about Malibu's new LIDAR speed cameras are likely to surface in public comment.

And we may be misjudging this, but it is a safe bet that the city's new speed control cameras will be brought up. Social media are full of complaints about the automated cameras, which use LIDAR to bounce light off of cars, sort of like a supermarket scanner.
Public comment starts at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
And be sure to check out the new sound system that the city council will be using. The city is investing in new microphones, cameras, and switching equipment that are set up right now in the conference room, while the council chambers are being remodeled for this.
Staff are still working out the bugs, but at last week's meeting, the audio was great.
