Monsoon moisture Sunday, then 112-degree heat wave by Tuesday

Offshore winds clear Malibu beaches Sunday before an inland heat wave pushes to the coast Tuesday through Thursday.

Even Malibu will feel effects of a strong summer monsoon over inland areas. The atmospheric moisture will flow in from Arizona and Sonora, reaching Malibu Sunday.

There will be strong offshore winds through the day and this will bring complete clearing to the beaches. There is a 10 to 20 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms in the mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

And by next Tuesday, a massive heat wave is expected to push hot weather all the way out past Malibu and out to sea. From Tuesday morning through Thursday evening, high temperatures are expected to reach 112° in the inland valleys and 85 to 95° in the Santa Monica Mountains.

Again, that's Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
