Santa Monica Pier neon sign heading to Las Vegas for refurbishing
The iconic entrance sign will be removed by the end of the month and returned about a year later.

The iconic neon sign that marks the entrance to Santa Monica Pier is headed to Las Vegas within a week. But don't worry — it'll come back a year from now.
It's going to be removed by the end of the month, remodeled at a sign factory in Las Vegas, and then trucked back out to Santa Monica.
Probably in late 2027.
