Teens spot vape-sparked brush fire on Kanan, call 911
A tossed electronic cigarette ignited a small fire near a strawberry vendor pullout Saturday night; young passersby put it out.

Someone threw a vape electronic cigarette from a car on Kanan Dume Road just above the city Saturday night.
It ricocheted off the pavement and landed in a bush just off the pullout where vendors often sell strawberries. The bush caught fire.
Some teenagers spotted it, put the fire out, called 911, and then stayed at the scene until they flagged down responding firefighters.
That's according to the firefighters. The fire was well off the pavement, near the second View Point pullout about a quarter mile north of the Malibu city limit.
Its official size was a quarter acre, but it appeared to be smaller than that.
