Weekend rain soaks east Malibu, Zuma gets less
Carbon Beach got 1.3 inches of rain over the weekend while Zuma Beach saw only a third of an inch.

Some parts of Malibu got drenched over the weekend, other parts not so much.
About one and a third inches of rain fell at the fire station at Carbon Beach over the weekend, just under one inch down the beach at Big Rock, but about a third of an inch of rain fell in the western part of the city, including at Zuma Beach.
The mountains and the canyon area that burned in the Bryson fire three weeks ago got drenched — almost 1.4 inches of rain — but we have yet to see any thick black runoff coming down from the fire down Trancas Creek at Malibu West. No major flooding problems were reported in Malibu.
