LAX people mover delayed again, may not open until January
Airport train that was supposed to launch in 2023 still can't pass safety tests, with recriminations flying between city and contractor.

The people mover at LAX is looking more and more like the high-speed rail project — going nowhere fast. Contractors now say the train at LAX might be running by January 6, but further delays are still possible.
The LAX people mover was supposed to operate beginning in 2023. More recently, contractors were aiming to launch regular service next month. The trains are already running back and forth through the airport on test runs, but apparently it cannot pass safety tests.
There are nasty accusations going back and forth between the city and the contractor. No people mover this year.
