Santa Monica to close PCH ramps at Moomat Ahiko for two months Play

Santa Monica has served notice they are going to close the ramps between PCH and Ocean Avenue. This is called Moomat Ahiko Way. They'll be closed for two months starting this weekend.

Crews will be demolishing the last section of the 87-year-old bridge between Santa Monica and the pier, and then they're going to build columns for the new connection. The city says that the PCH access ramps will also be used to stage equipment for the bridge construction. Apparently, in Santa Monica, storing their equipment is a higher priority than allowing access to and from Malibu via PCH.

Closure of these ramps cuts off access to what may be the best shortcut between Malibu down to the LAX area. That City of Santa Monica project is already underway. The ramps will close this weekend.
