Second Kelvin wave pulse arrives as record tides approach

Ocean levels last week were the highest measured ever, with even higher tides expected around Thanksgiving and Christmas.

By Hans Laetz

The flooding that Malibu saw last week along the beaches was probably the second pulse of Kelvin Wave water this year..

A scientist interviewed by the Los Angeles Times says the first Kelvin Wave pulse pushed north up the North American continent in the first week of October.

Coincidentally … that’s when waves from Hurricane Rachel also came crashing ashore … damaging some beachfront houses and washing away sand in many places.

It’s now apparent that the second Kelvin pulse arrived a week ago .. but there waves on top of it were pretty small.

The ocean level last week was the highest measured in 122 years.

Tides are measured as the water level’s distance above the average daily low tide.

Very rare to see that above 7 feet in Malibu.

Last week … they were almost 9 feet.

In three weeks … they will be even higher.

There is an 18 year cycle of tides reacting to the pull of the solar system’s other planets.

And there is a 4 year cycle of tides getting higher and lower because of the moon’s orbits.

Both of those celestial cycles are at their peak in the next few weeks.

And coincidentally … that’s set to happen on Nov. 25 … the day before Thanksgiving … and on December 23, 24 and 25.

Now look at what is happening in Arizona.

Flooding in Tucson.

Massive downpours in the Four Corners region.

The water level in Lake Powell has gone up at least 12 feet in one week.

That type of storminess is predicted to shift towards southern California in December.

Massive rainfall and strong winds … on top of Kelvin Wave pulses and very very high celestial high tides .

The tide itself is consistent with the highest NAVD88 tides we’ve had the last 6 years at 7.9-8.3’. What is different is the water temp. The +9.5 went down to +7.2 but over the last 10 days its up to +9.7. The temp with the swell power is indeed different.
